    @ceetheproducer …
    @ceetheproducer yeah fl studio seems like the “tonka truck” of DAW’s to be honest

    ableton is better …
    ableton is better by far but theres a lot a daws to choose from, cubase, sonar, acid, reaper, logic (if ur on a mac), pro tools, and many more, there all basicly the same thing there just platforms for your instruments and effects (its much more inportant u get some decent virtual instruments and effects then waste time compairing daws)
    but sayin that fl studio is the worst daw ive ever used and ableton is 1 of the best, but fl9 is still 100xs more advanced then wat we had 5 years ago bro.

  7. are you people …
    are you people really that stupid ? have you never heard of google ? do you all need spoon fed ?

  8. Both are great. …
    Both are great. Download the demos, play around with them and see which one appeals to you most.

    I started with FL, switched to Ableton and recently switched back to FL. Neither is really “better”, they both have strengths and weaknesses and the most important thing is really which one YOU like working with the most.

    Weeelll, I’m a drummer, and I haven’t read this whole thread between the two of you, but I’m just going to throw this out there, not really intending to hold ground, you know. Just sayin:

    I love my acoustic set and sounds, but I dread trying to work with them in certain hip hop and electro projects. Electronic drums and drum machines are a powerful tool in any knowledgeable musician/ producer’s arsenal. And: club crowds love them.

  13. Well, I liked …
    Well, I liked Fruity Loops, but I love Ableton.

    I’m just one of way too many though, you’ll get people who love one, the other, or both. If you can, go to your local Sam Ash or something and talk to the audio techs there, they often have studio setups where they can at least show you what goes on with one or the other.

    yeah …

    @alexmartin51
    yeah man, I play the guitar too… the thing is that you also don’t know much about electronic drums. There is a good thing on not using a sampled real drumset. Some electronic drum machines (as the roland tr808 and tr909) have the synthetic sounds that make a lot of electronic genres better defined and better sounding.

  18. lol, i actually …
    lol, i actually posted posted that comment because i just thought it was ridiculous how people use drum machines (in fact im actually a guitar player) i wouldnt reccomend anything for bass since i dont know much about it

  19. @alexmartin51
    what …

    @alexmartin51
    what if you like the real 808 and 909 drum sounds man? would you also recomend me to buy a complete modular synthesizer in order to record a bassline too?

  23. thanks ive been …
    thanks ive been going crazy trying to figure that out

  24. Well I’m normally …
    Well I’m normally on FL Studio for Beatmaking and Cubase for Recording. But Ableton Live is soeasy to handle with a enormous workflow that is not in any other daw. for shure not for every style of music the best. but for electronic music such as house, techno, rnb, hip hop a masterpiece of software! try it!

  25. there’s no such …
    there’s no such thing as a better music production program?! FL, Ableton and Logic are all great, but i agree ableton is the easiest. it depends on how well you know the program!
    Laidback luke uses FL, chris lake uses Ableton and yes the majority of producers uses logic, but that does’nt make it better?
